FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Do I need a doctor's referral to have physiotherapy?
No you do not need a referral to book a physiotherapy appointment.
If you want to claim on private medical insurance it is usually necessary to have a G.P.'s referral for physiotherapy before they will cover your treatment. It is important that you contact your insurers prior to booking an appointment to check terms of your policy and to confirm your level of cover.
Are we covered by Private Medical Insurance?
Yes all of our physiotherapists are fully accredited State Registered Physiotherapists and recognised by all major insurance companies. You will still need to contact your insurers as to the terms and conditions of your policy.
How long will I have to wait for an appointment?
We will endeavour to make an appointment for you on the day that you call, but definitely would be able to see you within a day or two.
How much is an initial appointment?
This will be determined by the amount of time required for your initial assessment. If you are complaining of a back or neck problem, or you have multiple complaints we would need a 45-60 minutes initial session, which would be charged at £75. Most other complaints would need a 30 minute initial session, which is charged at £50. This will be confirmed to you when you book your initial appointment.
How much is a follow up appointment?
Follow up appointments are charged at £50 for each 30 minute session.
How many treatments will I require?
The number of sessions required varies from person to person and is dependent on your condition and the length of time you have been experiencing symptoms. The physiotherapist will discuss a treatment plan with you once they have assesed you.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring with you any details relevant to your condition, i.e doctor's referral, MRI scans etc.
You may be required to undress to your underwear so that the physiotherapist can perform a full examination. You may wish to bring along a pair of shorts if you have a back problem or a lower limb problem.
