Ira Leinonen
Personal Trainer
Ira graduated from an arts and crafts college in Finland. In her final year, she suffered a football-field injury that changed her career direction. Opting out of surgery, she started a rehabilitation route instead and fell in love with the field.
Now, 30 years into her personal trainer career, she has accumulated a long list of qualifications and experience. From her initial health and fitness qualification in sports massage, she went on to run a women's-only gym, work in the Finnish national security police, and run a medical department of strength training clinic for over 10 years until she finally made a leap to being a self-employed trainer.
Her style is strength-based training. She believes that our training focus should always be such that it keeps the whole body in mind – head to toes. Balance, posture awareness and active correction to achieve better functioning, strong and happy body.
She uses her background, both professional and personal, in her training techniques. She has done sport and exercise of all sorts throughout her life. Competitive football, cross country skiing, athletics, running, kickboxing, etc. She is happiest when moving!
