Heel Pain

Heel pain refers to over 40 conditions affecting the heel. Around 1 in 10 people will experience it in their lifetime. Getting an accurate diagnosis is essential so the correct treatment plan can be implemented.

Common causes include:

  • Plantar fasciitis (insertional or non-insertional)

  • Abductor hallucis tendonitis

  • Heel fat pad syndrome

  • Heel spur syndrome

  • Baxter’s nerve entrapment or nerve referral pain

A musculoskeletal and biomechanical assessment is carried out to identify the cause of pain. If required, ultrasound or MRI referral can be arranged.
