Amy is a graduate of Cardiff University with over ten years of experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, specifically pelvic and women’s health physiotherapy, which she has spent the last six years specialising in.
Since graduating, Amy has completed multiple post-graduate qualifications, including acupuncture and clinical Pilates. She continues to attend multiple courses to further develop her specialist skills and has also enjoyed guest-lecturing at Nottingham University for physiotherapy undergraduates on the women’s health module.
Amy utilises her general musculoskeletal knowledge alongside her understanding of complex women’s health needs to offer a holistic and individualised approach to treatment. The specialism of pelvic and women’s health can cover a wide range of presentations, including perinatal assessment, postnatal rehabilitation, mastitis treatment, birth preparation, post-operative rehabilitation, exercise during menopause, clinical Pilates, as well as assessment and treatment for complex pelvic pain, digestive health concerns, gynaecological and urological presentations, such as organ prolapse.
Alongside her clinical role, Amy has led the team in a research project evaluating physiotherapy input in the management of mastitis conditions, which is also due for publication in the autumn of 2024.
Outside of work, Amy can be found sat in the sunshine reading a book or dog watching in the park.
